PEMBERIAN INFORMASI RUANG ICU MENURUNKAN TINGKAT STRES PASIEN

Abstract

ABSTRAK
Stres dapat didefinisikan sebagai reaksi tubuh terhadap situasi yang menyebabkan
ketegangan dan perubahan emosional. Saat ini semakin banyak pasien dengan gangguan
fungsi jantung karena gaya hidup atau komplikasi, semakin banyak pasien yang
membutuhkan perawatan intensif. Tempat yang membutuhkan peran optimal profesional
kesehatan khususnya perawat. Pandangan publik ketika dirawat di ruang ICU dalam
kondisi kritis dan hampir mati, sehingga psikologi pasien ICU sebelum memasuki ruangan
menjadi sangat sensitif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian
informasi tentang ICU terhadap tingkat stres pasien.
Desain penelitian yang digunakan Pra Eksperimental dengan desain pre-post test.
Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua pasien di ruang ICU Rumah Sakit Grha Husada
Petrokimia Gresik. Teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian ini menggunakan purposive
sampling. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien yang menjalani
perawatan di ruang ICU sebanyak 20 pasien pada bulan Juli 2012. Variabel bebas adalah
pemberian informasi tentang ICU dan variabel dependen adalah tingkat stres pasien. Data
dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa analisis statistik dengan menggunakan uji
statistik Wilcoxon diperoleh nilai yang signifikan p= 0,001 < 0,05, berarti H1 diterima,
sehingga ada pengaruh pemberian informasi tentang ICU dengan tingkat stres pasien.
Pasien yang masuk ruang ICU merasa stres. Oleh karena itu sangat penting peran
perawat dalam mengurangi tingkat stres melalui pemberian informasi tentang ICU untuk
pasien dengan cara komunikasi terapeutik.

ABSTRACT
Stress can be defined as the body's reaction to situations that cause stress, tension
and emotional changes. Today, increasing numbers of patients with impaired cardiac
function due to lifestyle or complications, the more patients who require intensive care
where it is needed the optimal role of health professionals especially nurses. The public
view when admitted to the ICU room is in critical condition and near death, so the
psychological ICU patients before entering the room to be very sensitive. The purpose of
this study was to determine the influence of the provision of information about the ICU to
stress levels of patients.
The study designs was used Pra Experimental with pre-post test design. The
populations in this study were all patients in ICU room of Grha Husada Petrokimia Gresik
Hospital. The sampling technique this study was used purposive sampling. The sample
used in this study were patients undergoing treatment in the ICU room as many as 20
patients in July 2012. Independent variable was provision of information about ICU and
dependen variable was stress level of patients. Datas were collected used questionnaires.
The results showed that the statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon statistical test
found significant value p= 0.001, which is less than 0.05, it means that H1 is accepted, so
there were the influence of provision of information about ICU to the stress level of
patients.

Patients who enter the ICU room feel stress. It is, therefore very important the
nurse's role in reducing stress levels through the provision of information about ICU to
patients with therapeutic communication.
