PENGARUH PERBEDAAN KADAR TOKSISITAS LARUTAN KULIT SEMANGKA (Citrullus lanatus) TERHADAP MORTALITAS LARVA NYAMUK Aedes aegypti

Abstrak

Efforts to control dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) that are carried out chemically can cause poisoning in humans so that it needs plant-based insecticides that are safer for the body such as fruits, especially on the skin. Watermelon chemical compounds include flavonoids, saponins, tannins and alkaloids that act as respiratory poisons and stomach poisons resulting in larval death. This study aims to determine the effect of different levels of toxicity of watermelon skin solution (Citrullus lanatus) on the mortality of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. This study used an experimental method with 4 treatment groups which each group contained 25 third instar Aedes aegypti larvae and 4 repetitions, namely the concentration of fresh and dried watermelon skin solution of 0%, 25%, 50% and abate 1% as a positive control. The data obtained were then tested on the SPSS computer program using the Kruskal Wallis test and Mann Whitney's post hoc test to find out the differences in each concentration and the probit test to determine the smallest concentration that can kill Aedes aegypti larvae. The results showed that the percentage of giving fresh watermelon skin solution had the highest number of deaths at 50% concentration and dry watermelon skin at all concentrations of 25% and 50%. Kruskal wallis and mann whitney tests obtained significant results, namely p <0.05 which means that there is a significant difference in the average mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae between concentrations. The results of the probit test showed that the concentration of fresh and dry watermelon skin solution could kill 50% of the test larvae with LC 50 values of fresh watermelon skin of 1.917% and dry watermelon skin of 1.423%. These results indicate that the solution of fresh and dry watermelon skin has an influence on Aedes aegypti larvae.
