Abstrak

The prevalence of tropical-transmitted infectious diseases in the tropics is still high. In Indonesia the nematode species that become health problems are Ascaris lumbricoides, hookworm, Trichuris Triciura, Strongiloides stercoralis. Source of transmission of worms through soil, mud, and water used as a vegetable cultivation. Cabbage is a vegetable commonly consumed by the people of Indonesia as fresh vegetables or eaten raw and some are consumed cooked or processed first. This is the threat of infection of intestinal nematode eggs. The purpose of this research is to know the existence of intestine nematode worms in cabbage vegetables (Brassica oleracea) raw and cooked in new market Gresik year 2017. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative with sedimentation principle with 0.2% NaOH . A total of 40 samples were examined and from observation there was contamination of intestinal nematode eggs in raw vegetable cabbage (25%) and mature cabbage vegetables (5%). The proportion of Ascaris lumbricoides egg species (87.5%) and Trichuris trichiura (12.5%). Washing factor becomes the main thing of contamination of intestinal worms egg nematode although vegetable cabbage eaten raw or already processed still there are intestinal nematode eggs.
