Efek Daun Pegagan (Centella asiatica [L.] Urban) sebagai Nutrisi dan Oksigenasi Otak terhadap Aktivitas Makrofag pada Cerebrum Tikus Putih (Rattus norvegicus L.) Galur Wistar sebagai Respon Imun

Abstrak

The use of gotu kola leaves (Centella asiatica [L.] Urban) seems to be an alternative forresearchers to know their activity as brain nutrition, because extracts of these ingredientscontain compounds that can inhibit brain apoptosis. Centella asiatica leaves have beenknown to affect the central nervous system, increase the brain's nerve stimulating power,and improve learning and remembering abilities. Further tests on the ability of gotu kolaleaves were carried out by examining the effect of giving gotu kola leaf water extract tocognitive abilities (especially the ability to learn and remember) and the levels ofmonoamine neurotransmitters (dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine and serotonin) intheWistar hippocampus (Rattus norvegicus) adult male.The design ofthis researchusinga split plot design in a completely random design. The observation of the number ofactivated macrophages was done by immunohistochemical methods. Rats aged 16 weekswith an average body weight of 150-200 grams were divided into 2 groups (the treatmentgroup was given gotu kola extract 200mg / kg BB dissolved in CMC Na 0.5% and thecontrol group was given CMC Na 0.5%).The results showed thatgivingof gotu kola leafethanolic extract with a dose of 200 mg / kg body weight could increase the number ofmicroglia cells (macrophages) with interpretation of results on the observation of imageshistopathologically with Hematoxilin-Eosin staining. The increase in astrocyte cellnumber after administration of gotu kola leaf ethanolic extract with a dose of 200 mg / kgBW was not affected by the interaction of time of observation and treatment.
