PENINGKATAN MUTU MINYAK JELANTAH MENGGUNAKAN ADSORBENDARI KERTAS KORAN BEKAS
Abstrak
Used cooking oil is cooking oil that has been used repeatedly and has been damaged. Cookingoil which has been damaged in quality becomes down and unhealthy if consumed. The numberof peroxide and free fattyacid (FFA) is one of the determining parameters for the quality ofcooking oil. The low content of the amount of peroxide and FFA shows the good quality ofcooking oil. This study aims to improve the quality of used cooking oil using adsorbents fromused newsprint. The number of peroxide numbers was determined by the spectrophotometricmethod at a maximum wavelength of 205 nm and the FFA level using the alkalimetry method.The results showed the highest decrease in peroxide and FFA levels on the addition of2.0 gramadsorbent concentration with 15 minutes immersion time of 41.8% and 52.5%, for 30 minutesimmersion, there was a decrease of 65.5% and 80%.Unduhan
