Abstrak


Dengue hemorrhagic fever is transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes which canbe prevented by temefos. However, sustainable use has an impact on mosquito resistanceand environmental damage. For this reason, efforts to overcome the disease includeeradicating vectors by using materials that can be taken from plants, one of them is bayleaf (Syzygium polyanthum). The aim of the study was to determine the effect of bayleaves on the death of Aedes aegypti larvae and to determine the effective concentrationofbay leaf solution to kill Aedes aegypti larvae. The research method is experimental, thepopulation used is Aedes aegypti larvae. Which then carried out the analysis using theSPSS program namely the one way annova test and the probit test. The results showedthat the percentage of giving bay leaf solution which had the largest number of larvaldeaths was at a concentration of 55% with a mortality percentage of 52%. It wasconcluded that each concentration of bay leaf solution was given to kill the Aedes splarvae with the lowest percentage of 35% and the highest was 52%. The results of oneway annova test significance value> 0.05, which means that there is no difference in theaverage number of deaths of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae with various concentrations.And the LC50 value of the bay leaf solution is 5.597%. With conclusions bay leaves canbe used as natural larvicides.
