PENGARUH PEMBERIAN ASAM SITRAT TERHADAP KADAR KESADAHAN AIR DENGAN METODE KOMPLEKSOMETRI DI DESA SUKOMULYO GRESIK
Abstrak
   The most community in Gresik using water with high hardness may be less suitable to be used. The hard water can cause problems for health, in addition it also can lead to the precipitation of minerals that clog the pipes and taps, the waste of soap in household. The hard water mixed with soap can not form a foam, but shaping clump of soap scum (soap scum) which are difficult to removed. One way to eliminate the hardness that is administration of citric acid. It also can be used as a cleaning agent that environmentally friendly and as an antioxidant. The purpose of this study to determine whether there are significant differences in administration of citric acid to decreased levels of water hardness in the village wells Sukomulyo Gresik.
   This type of study is an experimental research. The assay of hardness level done quantitatively by the method complexometry. The results were obtained average hardness levels are most effective at a concentration of 4% by 2011.9 ppm, the concentration of 5% by 1897.2 ppm and a concentration of 6% by 1760.8 ppm. The results of statistical analysis one way Anova test found significant decrease in the levels of hardness of the water wells in the village Sukomulyo Gresik after administration of citric acid.
