Abstrak

Water is a chemical compound that is very important for the life of living things on this earth. The most important water requirement for humans is drinking water. Three quarters of the human body consists of water, Humans can not survive more than 4-5 days without drinking water. The existence of refill drinking water depots continues to increase along with the dynamics of the community's need for safe and quality drinking water (Athena, 2004). In east java the refill drinking water depots are reviewed from microbiological are around 48% refill drinking water is not eligible for microbiological test. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of electric current on the growth of Salmonella sp bacteria in drinking water refill.
This research uses Identification method, where the sample used is drinking water refill in Dahanrejo Village, Kebomas Subdistrict, Gresik Regency with 2 treatment that is, exposed electric current 3 ampere for 2 hours and not exposed 3 ampere electric current.
From the results of the examination is that there is no growth of Salmonella Sp bacteria in drinking water refill samples exposed 3 ampere electric current for 2 hours. It can be concluded that there is a strong influence of electric current on the growth of Salmonella Sp bacteria.
