PENURUNAN KESADAHAN DENGAN PENDIDIHAN PADA AIR SUMUR GALI DI DESA SIDOKUMPUL, KECAMATAN BUNGAH, GRESIK

Abstract

Sidokumpul society, Bungah Gresik in complete water needs still use the water wells. In 2015, there were 6 cases of deaths due to kidney failure, one of the causes of kidney stones. Hardness in water is very instrumental in the formation of kidney stones. Decreased levels of hardness by boiling is one simple way, easier, and cheaper in improving the quality of raw water, especially water wells that will be used for daily needs. The purpose of this study to determine the levels of hardness in water wells, and how big penurunanan hardness levels after boiling. Boiling is performed at a temperature of 100 ° C with a variation of 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes.This study uses complexometry.
Results showed that decreased levels of hardness after boiling. Early water hardness levels are 447.88 mg / l. After boiling for 5 minutes can reduce levels of hardness amounting to 136.13 mg / l with a 30.39% decline, boiling for 10 minutes hardness levels fell by 175.16 mg / l with penuurunan 39.11% and boil for 15 min levels down by 195.66 mg / l with a 43.69% decrease.
