Abstrak

Mengajar adalah salah satu pekerjaan yang dapat membuat stres, beberapa penelitian sudah membuktikannya. Stres pada guru dapat disebabkan perilaku siswa, kesulitan dalam manajemen waktu dan sumber-sumber, kebutuhan untuk diakui secara profesional, dan buruknya hubungan-hubungan. Terlebih lagi mengajar anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK), terdapat tuntutan-tuntutan tertentu yang harus dihadapi oleh guru Anak Berkebutuhan terkait dengan perilaku siswa, serta kewajiban untuk membuat Program Pendidikan Individual. Apabila guru tersebut tidak melakukan coping terhadap sumber-sumber stres yang dihadapinya maka akan berdampak ke performa kerja nya, dan pada akhirnya akan berdampak ke anak didiknya. Coping stress adalah proses adaptasi terhadap tuntutan-tuntutan/ sumber stres yang ada. Coping stress terdiri dari 3 dimensi, yaitu problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping, dan maladaptive/ disfunctional coping. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah stress berkorelasi positif signifikan dengan emotion focused coping dan maladaptive coping, dan tidak adanya korelasi signifikan antara stress dengan problem focused coping.
