Abstrak

Well water is one of the source of clean water that much needed by the community, people depend on this well water when the well water belom processed so avoided from pollutants and safe in public consumption.
Ammonia is one of the pollutants often found in water because ammonia is found in the soil and is easily soluble in water. In one study mentioned that the dregs of tea can reduce ammonia levels of waste water production.
This research uses experimental method with quantitative analysis technique. The parameters observed were variation of absorbent weight (5 gram, 7 gram, 10 gram). Furthermore, the sample, soaked with amapas tea and charcoal activated with different concentration variations. Qualitative test and ammonia level determination were performed by using Nessler reagent and using visible spectrophotometer.
Results from the study, the average ammonia level without immersion of tea and charcoal active dregs of 0.1065mg / l while the average ammonia level with immersion of tea dregs 5 grams, 7 grams and 10 grams respectively was 0.0226 mg/l , 0.0041 mg/l and 0.0128 mg/l. Mean of ammonia concentration with active charcoal 5 grams, 7 grams and 10 grams respectively were 0.0483 mg/l, 0.0010 mg/l, 0.0003 mg/l. The results of statistical tests conducted can be concluded that there is a significant effect of adding weight absorbent activated charcoal and tea waste to the decrease in ammonia levels in well water.
