Gambaran College Adjustment Pada Mahasiswa Baru Di Fakultas Kedokteran Dan Hubungan Academic Adjustment Dengan Pencapaian Akademik

Abstrak

Menyesuaikan diri di tingkat pada seorang mahasiswa baru merupakan hal yang menantang. Perpindahan lingkungan akademis terjadi dalam 4 bidang yaitu akademik, emosi personal, sosial, dan institusional. Perubahan-perubahan tersebut akan berdampak pada penyesuaian diri mahasiswa. Bila memiliki penyesuaian diri yang baik mahasiswa akan memberikan respon sosial dan prestasi akademik yang baik dan sebaliknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dimensi college adjustment dalam SACQ berdasarkan mean serta meninjaunya berdasarkan perbedaan data demografis dan mengetahui hubungan dimensi academic adjustment dengan pencapaian akademik . Penelitian mengambil 190 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa baru fakultas kedokteran universitas tarumanagara yang berusia 18 hingga 25 tahun. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ). Analisa deskriptif mendapatkan mean (SD) college adjustment pada mahasiswa sebesar 3.39 (0.50).  Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukan nilai p 0.00 ( p<0.05). College adjustment responden berada pada tingkatan yang baik (diatas rata-rata) dengan perbedaan goal-comittment institutional attachment merupakan dimensi dengan mean paling baik. Mean tertinggi didapatkan pada responden dengan agama Hindu, berjenis kelamin laki-laki, berusia 21 tahun, memiliki status ekonomi tinggi, dan berasal dari DKI Jakarta. Penelitian ini mendapatkan hubungan antara academic adjustment dan pencapaiana akademik pada mahasiswa baru di faklutas kedokteran.
